Passport Specification
ECZ-ID passports are scoped, time-specific state declarations attached to a parent ECZ-ID. They are governed by deterministic policy and resolver logic. This specification defines passport format, behavior, and resolution outcomes.
Passport States
- Declared — Self-asserted with no reviewed input.
- Verified — Supported by checked evidence and authority-linked validation.
- Assured — Fully underwritten by an authority node, insurer, or auditor.
States are resolver-governed machine outputs. They do not imply endorsement, certification, or trustworthiness.
Resolution Behavior
- Passports resolve only if attached to an active ECZ-ID and recognized by the resolver.
- Each includes issuance time, expiration (if any), and structured metadata for machine parsing.
- Revoked or expired passports return non-authoritative state and should not be used downstream.
- Passports cannot exist independently. They are always subordinate to their parent ECZ-ID.
Example passport ID: ECZ-GB-A93K7Q::D2-DRONE-Q8Z4M3
Resolver path: /p/ECZ-GB-A93K7Q/D2-DRONE/Q8Z4M3
